About Tablecloth Tales

I love cooking. I think I do it well, better than many but perhaps worse than most. I love food. I get really excited when I taste food from a new country, whether in or out of my own city. I love hearing stories about food. I love hearing how and why people cook things, and spotting variations in how that food is cooked.

My dad is a retired chef. He worked at a local Italian restaurant and specialized in fish dishes. My mom was not a chef but she is known to cook just as well as he once did, if not better.

This is a collection of their recipes, my curiosity, and other people’s recipes, foods I found that make me happy, recipe trials from the many recipe books sitting on my shelves, or others I have found on the internet.

This is not only a collection of recipes. It is also a collection of stories shared around the table and anything related. This site features a collection of recipes, stories and photos from the place we eat our meals and tell most of our tales—around the table.
